ACC Youth Ministry

Welcome to the Asbury Community Chapel Youth Ministry.  We are glad you stopped by to see us!  Below you will find our heartbeat when it comes to youth.  We look forward to seeing you soon!

MINISTRY PURPOSE
We seek to lead the students in our ministry through a growth process.  First we desire to make certain they have knowledge of their need for a Savior, and that person is Jesus Christ.  He desires a relationship with them and not just a religious experience.  When they have realized this and have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior, we seek to link them with other Christians their age.  This will provide encouragement and strength in their new identity as a Christian as they build relationships with other Christians.  Next in the growth process is to teach them all that we have learned from the Word of God.  As they begin to grow it is our desire to see them find their ministry in the body of Christ and to use their God given gifts and talents for Him.   Lastly, it is our prayer that through this process they will begin to worship and honor God in and through their lives, giving all glory to Him.

Youth Group--Sunday nights from 6:00pm - 8:00pm in the Emmaus Bible College Gym
This time together is designed to minister to students at all different levels in their Christian journey.   The primary purpose will be to worship God through prayer, singing, skits, games, and a challenging message.  For believers it is a time to encourage them in their relationship with God. For pre-Christians it is a time to show them who God is.   We seek to do this through providing an atmosphere that is inviting, friendly, challenging and exciting.
SBF (Student Bible Fellowship)
Sunday mornings at ACC from 11:00am-12pm These will be small group studies designed to minister to the needs of growing Christians.   This will be an option for those students desiring more fellowship and teaching, and who will commit to doing the bible study.
Extracurricular Activities (monthly)
Times are set aside to spend with the students having good Christian fun while providing us yet another opportunity to minister to their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Activities include things such as retreats, camp-outs, mission trips, laser tag, ski trips and gym nights.  These times will serve several purposes.  Some will be evangelistic in nature where we encourage the students to bring their unsaved friends and provide us opportunity to get to know them and to let them get to know God.  Also these times will be for fellowship and encouragement for our regular students.
Ministry Teams
Ministry teams provide an outlet for our students to use their gifts and talents for the Lord. It is our desire to see all of our students actively serving God instead of passively letting opportunities slip away.  Examples of these may be drama, music, service, snacks, babysitting, and evangelism opportunities.  We believe that students are a vital part of the church body and have very specific gifts and talents that need to be used.  We want to teach them, lead them, and serve alongside them.  The goal is that we get to a point where we can "let go" and let them serve.
Some examples include:

  • Music ministry
  • B-ball ministry
  • Visiting widows and shut-ins
  • Nursing home visits
  • Birthday card ministry
  • Missions Trips
  • Etc.....
