Adult Ministries

ACC Adult Bible Study

We believe that the teaching of the whole Bible is essential for an accurate understanding of who God is and what He has done for us through Christ. Our Sunday morning meetings include 1)a worship and remembrance service that is focused on pointing one another toward Christ and His saving work for us on the cross and 2) an expository teaching service that is focused on communicating the truths of Scripture with application for today.

Because an adequate exposition of the whole Bible takes more than 52 sermons each year, we encourage our adults to participate in regular, personal Bible study. We encourage our teens, singles and adults to read through the whole Bible, and we provide several programs for help in this challenging endeavor. (A wide variety of books and devotional guides are available for personal Bible study from ECS Ministries). Various home Bible study groups are available each semester which provide fellowship, accountability, prayer support and teaching from the Bible. CURRENT STUDY GROUPS

Renew
Renew is a biweekly Bible study for women. The goal of “Renew” is that women will:
~ Renew their hearts by growing deeper in their relationship with God
~ Renew their minds with the in-depth study of God’s Word, the Bible
~ Renew their spirits by developing authentic and meaningful relationships with other women through study, prayer and fellowship.
Renew is one fellowship with two study options. Women may choose from the following two studies:
~ An in-depth study of the book of Judges led by Amy Hernandez
~ A study entitled “The Shelter of God’s Promises” by Sheila Walsh led by Jennifer Dreier (View book information here)
Both groups will meet together for fellowship and prayer and then break into groups for Bible study and discussion. Renew meets alternate Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:00 AM at Asbury Community chapel. Childcare IS provided.

9:30-9:45 Coffee and fellowship
9:45-10:30 Bible study and discussion
10:30-11:00 Prayer

Cornerstone
Cornerstone is a women's Bible study group that meets the fourth Thursday afternoon of each month. The study meets at the chapel from 1pm - 2:15pm. For more information please contact Nancy Fish.
Spanish Bible Study
The Spanish Bible Study meets on Sunday evenings at Emmaus’ Faculty/Staff Lounge. Our purpose is to evangelize and disciple Spanish speakers in the area. The meeting includes a time of singing, Bible study, prayer and fellowship. Your help through prayer, referrals, and occasional help with refreshments is welcome! Young Families Bible Study
A small group of families with young kids meet on alternate Sunday evenings at 7PM and are currently studying the book of 2 Peter.  Young families are welcome to join the group by contacting Jesse Lange for more information.
